Volunteer With Us

Lend your time and talents to help girls shine.

Dazzling G.E.M.S. relies on dedicated women and men who want to pour into the next generation. Volunteers serve at Focus and Flourish Fridays on the first Friday of every month, 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, signature events, community outreach, and behind the scenes operations. Whether you have two hours a month or twenty, there is a place for you.

Volunteer Roles

Serve With Purpose

Dazzling G.E.M.S. volunteers help create a safe, welcoming, faith centered environment where girls ages 3 to 17 are equipped, mentored, and set apart. Whether serving at check in, helping with setup, assisting with crafts, supporting hospitality, helping with events, or working behind the scenes, every volunteer plays an important role in the mission.

Our Five GEMS Zones

Girls are grouped by age so every lesson lands where she is. Volunteers are usually placed with one zone.

  • Rubiesages 3 to 5
  • Diamondsages 6 to 8
  • Emeraldsages 9 to 11
  • Topazages 12 to 14
  • Sapphiresages 15 to 17

Greeter and Check In Coordinator

Welcome families, sign girls in and out, and set the tone with warmth and hospitality at the door.

Time Commitment

About 2 hours per session, 1 to 2 times per month

Setup and Teardown Crew

Arrive early or stay late to arrange tables, decor, and supplies so each session feels special.

Time Commitment

1 to 2 hours before or after a session or event

Snack and Hospitality Team

Prepare and serve light refreshments, keep the snack area tidy, and care for guests with a servant's heart.

Time Commitment

About 2 hours per session or event

Photography and Social Media Volunteer

Capture candid and posed photos and short videos for social media, recap reels, and program archives.

Time Commitment

Per session or event, about 2 to 3 hours

Arts and Crafts Activity Leader

Help lead hands on craft activities tied to each lesson, guiding girls through projects step by step.

Time Commitment

About 2 to 3 hours per session, monthly

Administrative and Data Entry Support

Support behind the scenes operations: registrations, attendance, mailings, and family communication.

Time Commitment

Flexible, 2 to 4 hours per month from home

Special Event Planning Committee

Help dream up and execute signature events: galas, retreats, fundraisers, and community outreach.

Time Commitment

Monthly planning meetings + event days

Transportation and Logistics Support

Assist with hauling supplies, picking up donations, and moving equipment to and from event sites.

Time Commitment

As needed, about 2 to 4 hours per request

Special Skills Volunteer

Share a unique talent such as graphic design, music, dance, etiquette, beauty, finance, ministry, or speaking.

Use your gifts, experience, and passion to help us empower girls ages 3 to 17. We are currently seeking committed volunteers who believe in our mission and want to help create a safe, encouraging, and transformational experience for every girl.

Volunteer Opportunity

Media and Public Relations Volunteer

Help Dazzling G.E.M.S. share its mission, programs, events, and community impact through photography, videography, social media support, storytelling, media outreach, and public relations.

Primary responsibilities

  • Take high quality photographs and videos during classes, programs, events, and other approved Dazzling G.E.M.S. activities
  • Assist with creating and organizing approved content for social media
  • Help with social media postings and the promotion of programs, events, and organizational updates
  • Assist with press releases, media announcements, and community outreach
  • Help build relationships with local media outlets and community partners
  • Maintain consistent and professional public messaging
  • Identify opportunities for interviews, media features, partnerships, and community visibility
  • Coordinate and collaborate directly with the Founder, Social Media Support Team, and Secretary
  • Follow all photo release, child safety, privacy, confidentiality, and media use policies

Preferred qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Photography and basic video recording skills
  • Experience or interest in media, communications, marketing, journalism, social media, or public relations
  • Professional, dependable, organized, creative, and responsive
  • Comfortable serving within a Christian faith based nonprofit
  • Able to protect confidential and sensitive organizational information

Volunteer Opportunity

Volunteer Lead Teacher

Lead engaging, age appropriate lessons that help girls grow in faith, identity, confidence, character, etiquette, relationships, and practical life skills.

Primary responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Program Director to plan, prepare, and deliver assigned curriculum lessons
  • Maintain regular communication with the Program Director regarding classroom needs, concerns, attendance, and participant progress
  • Lead engaging, age appropriate lessons using the approved Dazzling G.E.M.S. curriculum
  • Create a safe, welcoming, structured, and encouraging learning environment
  • Guide classroom activities, discussions, reflections, and hands on experiences
  • Work collaboratively with facilitators, mentors, and other program volunteers
  • Support the individual learning and developmental needs of participants
  • Follow all Dazzling G.E.M.S. child safety, confidentiality, classroom management, and conduct requirements

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working with children, youth, education, mentoring, ministry, or youth development
  • Strong leadership and classroom management skills
  • Patient, dependable, encouraging, and organized
  • Able to teach from the approved Dazzling G.E.M.S. curriculum
  • Comfortable serving within a Christian faith based environment
  • Willing to complete all required training and screening
  • Willing to complete and pass a background check

Requirements

  • ◆Must be at least 18 years old
  • ◆Must complete a background check at your own expense (we will provide a list of affordable Las Vegas providers)
  • ◆Must attend a one hour volunteer orientation before serving
  • ◆Must agree to the Dazzling G.E.M.S. Code of Conduct and Child Safety Policy
  • ◆Commit to a minimum of one session or event per quarter

Safety and Screening

Dazzling G.E.M.S. is committed to providing a safe environment for every girl in our program. All volunteers who interact with minors must complete a background check before serving. We reserve the right to decline or revoke volunteer status at any time to protect the safety of our participants.

    Background Check

    You receive instructions and a list of approved Las Vegas providers, along with the account number the provider will ask for. You go, get screened, and pay at the counter. Results come directly to Dazzling G.E.M.S., not to you. We will contact you either way once they arrive.

    Orientation Invitation

    Approved volunteers are invited to attend a one hour Volunteer Orientation.

    Volunteers learn program expectations, safety procedures, communication guidelines, and assigned responsibilities.

    Volunteers receive their role assignment and schedule.

    Serve and Shine

    Volunteers begin serving with the Dazzling G.E.M.S. team.

You are responsible for the cost of your own check. Expect roughly $40 to $75 total depending on where you go. Ask whether they offer a nonprofit volunteer rate, because several do. Bring a valid government photo ID. A photocopy will not be accepted.

This is a partial list. Nevada State Police publishes every approved site in the state at rccd.nv.gov. Any location on that list works.

Nonnegotiable

Our Commitment to Child Safety

The safety of every girl is nonnegotiable. All volunteers must complete a background check, attend orientation, follow the Two Adult Rule, maintain appropriate boundaries with minors, protect participant confidentiality, and communicate only through approved Dazzling G.E.M.S. channels.

Two Adult Rule: No volunteer may ever be alone with a child. At least two screened adults must be present in every room, hallway, restroom area, or activity space.
