Conversation Starters for Home

Faith based prompts to spark meaningful talks, grouped by what we are learning.

The growth that happens at Focus and Flourish Fridays continues at your kitchen table. Here are gentle questions to open honest conversations with your daughter. There are no wrong answers. Listen more than you correct.

Identity and Self Worth

So LOVED

  • What is one thing you like about yourself that has nothing to do with how you look?
  • When do you feel the most like yourself?
  • What is something you believe God says about you?
  • Who makes you feel valued, and how do they do it?

Grace, Poise and Presence

Etiquette and Confidence

  • When was a time you felt confident walking into a room? What helped?
  • How do you want people to feel after they talk with you?
  • What does respect look like to you, and how do you like to be shown it?

Relationships and Overcoming Rejection

Loved, Connected and Unshaken

  • Who is a safe friend to you, and what makes them safe?
  • Tell me about a time your feelings got hurt. What helped you heal?
  • How can you tell the difference between a friend who lifts you up and one who pulls you down?
  • What is a boundary you would like to set, and how can I help?

Life Skills and Purpose

Polished and Prepared

  • What is a skill you want to learn this year?
  • If you could solve one problem in the world, what would it be?
  • What is a dream you have not told anyone yet?
  • What is one thing you would like to be able to do on your own?

Just Because

Anytime

  • What was the best part of your day, and the hardest part?
  • Is there anything you have been wanting to tell me but were not sure how?
  • How can I pray for you this week?

Keep these somewhere handy, like the fridge, and let them lead where they lead.
